In recent years the beauty industry has been using more natural formulas, I am all for this shift, as I can suffer from sensitive skin and I find that natural products work better on my skin. Similar to my hair products I try to avoid placing harsh chemicals on my skin. February’s product review is all about beauty products with natural ingredients. Keep reading to find out what beauty and hygiene products I have been using lately. Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Hand and Nail Balm I am always on the lookout for a thick and moisturising hand cream, as I can be prone to dry hands in the winter. The Dr Organic line contains the organic Moroccan Argan oil hand and nail balm. What I love about this hand cream is it is extremely thick and spreads well proving a lasting moisturising covering. On application it immediately gets rid of the dryness with a small amount, that includes those annoying dry spots in between the fingers. The hand cream is reasonably priced for how effective it is. As you know I try to use products with as much natural ingredients as possible and this hand cream is packed full of certified organic ingredients, with over ten different oils. The ingredients also contain anti-oxidants which help with aging of the skin; it’s a wrinkle hand free zone over here. The only downside to the cream is the smell, you would think it would have the nutty aroma of Argan oil, but it actually smells quite musky and earthy and I am not a fan of this, and unfortunately the smell does not fade. Despite the unpleasant smell I would still continue to use the hand cream as it does such a great job of keeping my hands hydrated. Glam Glow Poutmud Fizzy Lip Exfoliating Treatment It seems as if winter is never ending and the coldness has started to affect my lips. I have been suffering from dry and flaky lips due to the harsh London weather. The Glam Glow lip exfoliant is a lip scrub containing cane sugar, Hawaiian sea salt, almond oil and other natural ingredients. I use it a couple of times a week to help keep my lips soft and smooth. The scrub is not too harsh on the delicate skin of the lips and it has been effective in reducing the flaking and peeling. I apply it over my lips for a few minutes and then add water and exfoliate. The product is described as producing a fizzing effect, but this does not occur. However I’m not sure why you would want your lips to fizz, but the lack of fizzing does not take away from the effectiveness of the product. On washing off the scrub a light balm is left and super soft lips. Jason Cosmetics Sea Fresh Natural Sea Sourced Toothpaste The great thing about this organic toothpaste was it left my teeth feeling ridiculously clean. The toothpaste foams up really well and it is extremely thick, so you do not require excessive amounts to clean your teeth. Compared to traditional toothpaste the minty taste was not as strong and refreshing, but it still did the job of cleaning my teeth and I have noticed that my teeth are actually whiter. It also helped to reduce the sensitivity of my teeth when eating sugary food. The toothpaste is fluoride free, contains no sulfates, no artificial colours or preservatives. I am use to purchasing my toothpaste from pound shop and this toothpaste is more expensive than the usual brands, but if I want to be more conscious of what products I am using I guess it comes with a price. Due to the thickness of the toothpaste it has lasted a long time. I would purchase this again, but I would always use it in combination with a mouthwash to obtain that minty freshness. It used to be very difficult to find the appropriate skin care products, especially if you have extremely sensitive skin. I am thankful that there are more products in the market right now that are organic and do not have harsh chemicals that irritate my skin. I would normally use products with organic ingredients, and my kid does too. I have already used some Dr. Organic products before, but I have not tried the hand cream yet. I am not a fan of the Argan oil scent either, but I am willing to try it if it's as good as you say it is.
