In between protective styling I like to give my hair a little break. The puff is my absolute favourite hairstyle to wear. It is simple to achieve, lasts for a few days and can also turn a failed hairstyle into something great. I achieved the look by starting on freshly washed hair and I twisted my hair into medium sized twists using a twisting butter. My hair was left to dry over-night and in the morning I took down the twists, separated and fluffed with an afro comb. I then applied the Cantu Extreme Hold Styling Stay Glue on the shaft of the hair to achieve a sleeker look and also to lay down my edges. After wrapping my hair with a scarf for twenty minutes the result was a cute look. This is the first time using the Extreme Hold Styling Glue and I was impressed with how the gel was able to keep my edges down. A lot of products I have used before fail to keep my edges down for even a few minutes, but this holding style glue lasted for the whole day. It also kept the bulk of my hair in place for most of the day. There was fizziness of the hair but it was more along the shaft rather than the edges. If you have been searching for a gel that provides a firm hold on 4C hair and that does not leave the hair extremely stiff you should try the Cantu Extreme Hold Styling Stay Glue. I have not experienced flaking on my own hair, even when applied on top of other products and there was also no product build up after a week. However when I used the gel to lay down the edges on a closure there was a lot of white flakes, I repeat a lot of white flakes! Another issue I found with the gel was the sticky texture reacting to products in my hair when first applied and I also noticed this again when I re-moisturised my hair. The consistency of the gel is exactly like sticky glue but it can still be distributed easily through the hair. The glue dries quite hard compared to other gels, so the hold is quite firm. However despite the firm hold I was still able to easy detangle my hair and separate using water from a spray bottle.
Ladies let me know what is your favourite hair gel for type 4 hair?

The flakes could be due to the product mixing with ecostyler gel previously used on the lace closure

I was very disappointed with this product, it clearly states no flaking, it was horrible. Very disappointed
