Products I Use To Keep My Hair Moisturised

Hydrated hair is so important for the health of natural hair, especially for 4C hair care...
This is because moisturised hair prevents breakage and allows for length retention and ultimately healthy hair growth. When caring for my hair I aim to use products that keep my hair moisturised at every stage of my hair care regime, from the washing process to styling. Keep reading to find out what products I use to maintain soft and moisturised hair.

1. Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo works so well to cleanse the hair without stripping it dry. This is so important when managing my 4C hair, as this texture can become dry and brittle very quickly. A common misconception is this hair type is so strong, but in reality 4C hair is delicate due to the irregular kinks and curls.
The shampoo is so moisturising that I am able to detangle my hair easily and my kinks start to pop at the shampoo stage. It is also great value for money and lasts for ages, as you only need a small amount because it lathers up a lot. This shampoo works well after removing a protective style. Sometimes when I remove my braids my scalp and strands can still be quite dry even though I use a spray leave in. A few washes with the Shea Moisture hydration shampoo and then my kinks come back to life.

2. A steam cap is a worthwhile investment for any naturalista; you can have a salon experience in the comfort of your own home without the cost. I was that person who went to the hair salon religiously every two weeks for a treatment, but now I save my coins and do the treatment myself at home and the outcome is exactly the same. After conditioning I then apply a deep conditioner, this could be a homemade or a store bought one. I then use my Aphrodite Ultra Hair Conditioning Cap. After thirty minutes of steaming my hair I am left with ridiculously soft and moisturised kinks that are really easy to style.

3. I have used curls products in the past but I have never tried The Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner, I have always found that the Curls hair care brand produce quality products that work well on my hair. As my usual leave in conditioner was not in stock I decided to buy this one and I was so glad that I did.
I have been using the leave in conditioner every few days to refresh my hair and re-add moisture to my strands. The Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner comes in a cream formula that is light weight, but heavy enough for my 4C hair texture. I really liked that the moisture was lasting and the formula kept my hair feeling soft. The formula contains organic blueberry extract. Blueberries contain the highest concentration of antioxidants of any fruit, and research shows that the fruit slows down the aging process. In relation to hair care this means less grey hairs and reduced hair loss.

4. A styling product that I have been using for years is also by Curls, The Blueberry Curl Control Paste. I use the paste when I want to achieve a sleeker hairstyle or to lay down my edges. I really love this product and it has become a staple part of my haircare regime. The reason why I love this product so much is it is able to achieve a smooth appearance without being sticky and it does not flake at all, also there is less product build up in comparison to other gels. My hair is held in place without being stiff and hard.
