Modern life can get really hectic and so busy to the point where it’s all work work work and we forget to take a moment to just breath...
reflect and look after ourselves.
A great way to pause for a moment and relax is by pampering yourself. Even thirty minutes of self-indulgence can do so much for your mood.
That’s why every Sunday I find some time for self-care. This means for at least one hour my house turns into a mini spa which involves face masks, body scrubs, a nice cup of herbal tea and music to suit my mood. I try to recreate the spa experience. This means no social media or TV, just time to relax and chill out.
It’s so important to look after yourself. If you feel great on the outside it can also help to boost your mood. So next Sunday find some time to stop, put your phone on do not disturb and slap on a face mask. You will start to feel a whole lot better for it.

The first part of my routine is to turn on my aroma humidifier diffuser. I love filling my house up with the scent of essential oils. Each essential oil has a different property that benefits your skin or body internally and externally. Essential oils can can even help with improving your mood. I am currently using Lemon, it can reduce stress and anxiety. The smell wafting through my room is so refreshing and the oil is fantastic for greasy skin. Which is great news for my oily T Zone, it also helps to brighten pale and dull complexions.

The next step is to cleanse my skin of any dirt and grime using micellar water. I use Garnier organic delicate cornflower micellar water. The formula is vegan and it also contains some organic ingredients. It helps to gently cleanse my skin without any irritations. The formula is great as it is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.

Once my face is clean I then use a face mask, recently I have been loving Shea moisture products. My favourite one is the Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Mud Mask. The formula is extremely thick, making layering up of the mask easy. After about fifteen minutes you can just feel all of the impurity’s being drawn out of my skin. To remove the face mask I use Balm Balm organic muslin cleansing cloth. I rinse the cloth under warm water and then gently remove the mask. The heat helps to open up my pores and my skin is soft and smooth to the touch. Whilst the appearance is refreshed and glowing.

The next step is exfoliation of my skin using the Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic by REN cleanskin care, the ingredients contain lactic acid which smooths out my skin and salicin reduces pore appearance. Since using this product, not only on self-care Sunday, but on a daily basis my skin tone appearance has been more even, especially the dark circles around my eyes.

The final stage of my pampering routine is a face cream to lock in the moisture. I use REN Global Protection Day Cream on my face and neck. Only a small amount is needed as the formula spreads easily.

Now you are radiating on the outside all that is left to do is remember how amazing you are and get yourself pumped for the coming week.
