I have been on the lookout for a new shampoo because my current one is just not working like it used to, most likely due to a change in the formula. While wondering the aisle of the hair shop I just happened to pick up a shampoo by Taliah Waajid. I have never used this brand before, but I was drawn to the products because of the natural ingredients they contain. My type 4C hair responds well to more natural formulas so I decided to give it a try. Taliah Waajid brand has a few collections to choose from, including a protective style collection. The products are also reasonably priced, which is great when you love trying out new products. As I am a product junkie I could not resist buying a few items from the brand. I purchased a shampoo, a leave-in conditioner and oil. These products have worked really well on my hair, especially the leave in conditioner. I will definitely try out more of Taliah Waajids products in the future. Check out my review below and let me know if you have used the brand before. Clean-N-Curly Hydrating Shampoo The shampoo is part of the Natural Curly and Wavy Hair Textures Collection. As 4C hair is prone to dryness I opted for the hydrating shampoo. The shampoo contains silk protein which helps with protecting the hair strands. I really liked the effect this shampoo had on my hair. My kinks did not tangle and the product lathered really quickly leaving my hair feeling clean after the 1st rinse. On rinsing the product out completely my hair remained soft, smooth and moisturised. I will continue to use this shampoo as I am amazed at how it does not strip my hair and it makes the rest of the wash day routine so much easier. It would be great if they released a bigger bottle in the future, as I used it up really quickly despite not having long hair. I cannot get enough of it! Shea-Coco Condition Daily Leave-In Conditioner At first I did not have high hopes for this leave in conditioner, as it contains coconut oil and I am not a fan of coconut oil as it does nothing for my hair. However I thought I would give it a try as the leave-in conditioner also contains Shea butter, and Shea butter will forever be my best friend as it works wonders on my hair. The Shea Coco Natural Collection contains Shea butter and coconut oil blended with natural ingredients. The leave in conditioner contains 98% natural ingredients and it has a lovely coconut smell when applied. This is a great light leave in for the summer months and I have been using it on my protective styles and on my afro. Shea-Coco Condition Daily Leave-In Conditioner kept my 4c hair from drying out and it did not leave my scalp greasy, which is always a plus when you have a protective style and want to limit product build up. I found that it worked best with black Jamaican castor oil to seal in the moisture. Shea-Coco Monoi Oil Monoi oil is a mixture of coconut oil with the Tiare flower. So you are thinking how is this going to help my hair? The benefits to the hair include reducing frizz, repairing and preventing hair damage by realigning keratin fibres. Leaving you with stronger and healthier hair. The Shea Coco-Monoi oil serum contains 100% natural ingredients; is a cocktail of Monoi oil combined with other oils, like Castor and Avocado. I used the serum to seal in the moisture after I have applied the leave-in conditioner. I mainly concentrate on my edges and the ends of my hair. The serum is a light formula and it prevented my hair from drying out but I found that I had to use it twice a day when compared to my heavier oils. As the serum contains completely natural ingredients it can also be applied to the body and used on the skin as a moisturiser. I use it at night on my face to moisturise. Only a few drops are needed for the face because the oil spreads easily. In the morning my skin is really clear, soft and has a fresh appearance.
