Recently I have been extremely busy and travelling a lot. This has led to me wearing low maintenance hairstyles. I have been wearing different braided styles such as box braids, Ghana cane rows and twists.
When I have braids installed I always use a leave-in spray to keep my hair moisturised. I have started using my own DIY braid spray which is easy to make and also saves money. I have found that this particular mix reduces itching and prevents dryness.
Sweet Almond oil
Leave in conditioner (Currently using As I Am Leave in Conditioner)
Rosemary essential oil
Lemon essential oil
Always use a carrier oil (e.g. Sweet Almond oil, jojoba oil, EVOO) to dilute essential oils. Never place undiluted essential oils on your skin. They can be harmful and can cause severe skin irritation.
This braid spray can last for one week, preferably keep it refrigerated. I like to use the spray at night before I go to bed to reduce the dryness in the morning.
