I am not sure if this happens to anyone else, but do you have those people in your life that love to comment on your travel adventures? I get statements like I hear that you are going away again? Another holiday? It is almost if travelling is a bad thing and I should be doing something better with my time. I say why not travel, life is too short to not go out there and explore the world. I do not want to reach eighty years of age and be thinking should have, could have, or would have. Travelling makes me happy, so I am going to keep on doing what fulfils me. Some people like expensive cars or jewellery, for me travelling is my luxury, if I do not have a new destination booked then it gets me down. Travelling makes me a better person. Experiencing people of different cultures and their way of life makes you appreciated what you have. Human nature focuses on the negatives. I don’t have the job I want, I am not in a relationship, or I don’t have a car. The list goes on and on for everyone. Travelling puts my life into perspective. Especially when you meet people deemed in Western society as having very little and they are still smiling through difficult circumstances. I have not taken the plunge yet by travelled alone, maybe one day I will be brave but at the moment all of my holidays are taken with friends or family. Travelling with loved ones can be stressful at times, but the good outweighs the bad. It creates amazing memories that you can treasure forever. Especially with girl’s trips, nothing beats getting away with close friends and living your best life. I recently went to Lisbon Portugal with my bestie and had a fabulous time. The trip was filled with laughter, reminiscing on past experiences and hyping each other up for future successes. Leading such crazy and hectic lives we really get time to pause and think about life. Travelling gives me time to reflect on the positives and negatives that are going around me. Getting away is like a reset button on my life. I come home feeling more focused and determined. Travelling gives me clarity. On my vision board this year I have several destinations I want to travel to. These include Bora Bora, Japan, Santorini, and I want to also explore all the Caribbean islands by the time I am old and grey. Some of these places were on my goal list last year, but it doesn’t matter if you don’t achieve it within that year, what is more important is getting there in the end. Very soon I will be adding another Caribbean island to my list of places I have visited, I will be heading to the Cayman Islands and of course I will be sharing my experiences with you guys on the gram and in my blog. I also want to take more frequent shorter breaks. Even if it is in the United Kingdom, by visiting another city or even a spa weekend in a country retreat. I usually find that by the time my trip is coming around I am heading to burnout. So to avoid the crash and burn frequent breaks are required. So for 2019 if I am travelling near or far from home I will be happy as long as I am travelling. Keep dreaming, stay focused, and keep travelling guys.
In the comment section let me know your travel destinations for 2019.
